Guide for Authors
Manuscript preparation:
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education, authors are required to complete the conflicts of interest and the commitment forms and send them as supplementary files when submitting the article. The submitted manuscript should be structured in the following sequence: title in Farsi, author names and affiliations in Farsi, abstract in Farsi, keywords in Farsi, title in English, author names and affiliations in English, abstract in English, keywords in English, main text containing appropriate sub-sections, list of nomenclature, references, supplementary information (if any), acknowledgements, tables, artwork (including figures, graphs and photos)
The manuscript must be prepared on A4 size paper, in two column format with each column width equal to 7 centimeters and a maximum of 25 lines per page. The margins of the manuscript file should be equal to 3 centimeters from each side (top, bottom, left and right). The recommended font is B Lotus size 12 for Farsi fonts and Times New Roman size 10 for English fonts. General comments: (a) Avoid using non-Farsi words throughout the text unless deemed necessary. (b) Use of footnotes is prohibited (if further explanation is necessary, place the English equivalents or explanations in front of the text in parentheses). (c) The entire manuscript must be paginated and the number of pages must not exceed 16 pages. (d) Punctuations, acronyms and abbreviations must be used correctly throughout the manuscript.
- Title: Title shall not exceed 12 words and must represent the contents of the manuscripts. A title does not normally include numbers, acronyms, abbreviations or punctuation. All words in the English manuscript title must be capitalized.
Example: A New Nonlinear Model for Flexural Vibration Analysis of a Cracked Beam
- Author names and affiliations: The authors’ names will be published in the same sequence as appears in the manuscript. If there is more than one author, clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication (the first author is declared as the default corresponding author if not indicated by the authors). Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation.
- Abstract and Keywords: A Farsi and English abstract is required for all papers. An effective abstract should be brief and normally less than 120 words. The abstract should indicate the content of the paper, should describe the main conclusions and must be placed on the first page of the manuscript. The entire abstract must be placed in a single paragraph. The English abstract should be a direct translation from the Farsi abstract. References should be avoided, but if essential, they must be cited in full, without reference to the reference list. Immediately following the abstract, provide a maximum of 5 keywords which appropriately represent the contents of the paper.
- Figures, Tables and Graphs: The number of artworks should be kept to a minimum and only necessary artwork are to be submitted with the manuscript. The artwork can be placed inside the manuscript text or moved to the end of the manuscript. General points: (a) Make sure you use uniform lettering and sizing of your original artwork. (b) Embed the used fonts if the application provides that option. (c) Aim to use the following fonts in your illustrations: Arial, Courier, Times New Roman, Symbol, or use fonts that look similar. (d) Number the illustrations according to their sequence in the text. (e) Figures and captions to illustrations should be submitted on the same page. (f) Size the illustrations close to the desired dimensions of the published version. (g) All text inside the artworks, tables and graphs must be in Farsi. Each illustration must be submitted as a separate file after the reviewing process is over and the manuscript has been accepted for publication. Electronic artwork must be submitted in one of the following formats: JPEG: Color or grayscale photographs, keep to a minimum of 300 dpi, bitmapped (pure black and white pixels) line drawings, keep to a minimum of 1000 dpi, combinations bitmapped line/photograph (color or grayscale), keep to a minimum of 500 dpi.
- Math formulae and Equations: All equations and math formulae must be presented in uniform lettering and sizing. Regular font size 10 (not italic) is recommended for all equations. Please submit math equations as editable text and not as images. Number consecutively any equations that have to be displayed separately from the text (if referred to explicitly in the text). Each equation number should be placed in parentheses in front of the equation. Equations must be written in Microsoft Word or MathType. The maximum width of each formula should not exceed 7 centimeters (break long equations into several smaller ones).
- References: All references to other papers, books, etc., must be given at the end of the paper. They should be numbered in sequence starting at the beginning of the paper. The numbers (in brackets) should appear in the text at the appropriate places. The reference list at the end of the manuscript must be presented in a single column and comply with the following style:
